Narrow beamed lighting that highlights sharp features and wide angled flood lighting to pick up flat surfaces are preferred. These two simple methods create pools of light and shadows that will transform a house that may be uninteresting during the day, and make it come to life at night.
Once you are done lighting up the 10 ft X 15 ft sleeping area, focus on lighting the task areas. You need to have a bright source of light around the dressing and study tables to have a clearer view of things. Placing bright lamps, pendant lamps, or wall fixtures with individual sockets is the norm to brighten up your study area. Opt for two vertical lamps to adorn the dressing table, instead of a single overhead light that will cast shadows.
Should be placed such that they do not hinder your function (e.g. place wall sconces beside mirrors instead of a single one atop, to avoid shadows)
Using mirrors is also a good idea, as they reflect light and can give an impression of a much larger space. You can use a wall-mounted mirror as a focal point in your bathroom. You can choose from a variety of mirrors to suit the dcor of your bathroom and your personality. You may also want to get a defogger, as it is usually inexpensive and generally does not consume too much power.
